Will the NXT Attack on RAW Be a One Night Angle Or a Major Storyline?

WWE RAW last night was a "viewer's choice" where the fans of the WWE got to vote on stipulations, opponents, and other ideas and while it was short on intensity, the last angle of the night where the NXT season one rookies destroyed the RAW set and everybody in their way has really gotten the IWC buzzing about the WWE and the NXT show.

The assault on the RAW crew was shocking to watch on television because in my many years of watching wrestling, I haven't seen an angle become so intense and so interesting to watch since the Stone Cold-Triple H angle back in 2001.

This epic event really stirred up the entire WWE because all of the NXT rookies played a heel role in destroying announcers, the ring, the ring crew, and even John Cena and CM Punk. A violent angle is very rare in wrestling today due to the PG rating or even the government bitching about censoring pro wrestling to the younger audience but this angle last night was earth shattering.

Now thinking about this angle, I got to wondering, "what will the WWE do next with this idea of the NXT rookies being out for blood?"

Well folks the possibilities are endless for the WWE on this idea because they can take this idea and turn it into a major feud from WWE veterans who have been world champions against guys who haven't had their shot at greatness or even do an idea that was done in WCW back in 2000 when they did the New Blood versus The Millionaires Club.

The WWE could just have the NXT rookies go against their former "pros" and have them feud with them for months to come. Anything is possible after last night's actions by the NXT rookies.

I am hoping that the WWE really goes with the idea of the NXT rookies being ruthless and maybe get some young guys like Swagger or Sheamus to join them and take out the established stars of the WWE like Cena, Punk, Orton, and others. That idea could happen on RAW and SmackDown plus you could really involve everybody on the roster from John Cena to even low card guys like Zach Ryder.

This feud could see some unpredictable heel or babyface turns like Morrison turning heel with the NXT rookies or see CM Punk turn babyface for a short period of time to fight off the younger generation. Heck the WWE could explain that the NXT rookies took out the Undertaker and really get the Brothers of Destruction behind this feud.

I know that the "Invasion" angle failed in 2001 by a lack of star power on the alliance side but that angle turned in a huge PPV profit and made the company a lot of money so maybe re-doing that angle except with it being fresh faces versus established stars could be one of the greatest storylines in the history of pro wrestling.

Now I don't know what the wrestling fans think about last night's NXT attack on John Cena and CM Punk but it has done something very successful, it has gotten the wrestling world talking about the WWE again as "must-see" TV and there is nothing bad about that at all.
