Report: Guangzhou Pharmaceutical 0-4 Chelsea
Chelsea began their tour of Asia today with an easy 4-0 win over Guanghzou Pharmaceutical in China.
Solomon Kalou opened the scoring in the 20th minute, running onto Lampard's ball into the box and smashing the ball into the net.
Anelka worked some space for himself in the 43rd minute, but saw his shot rebound off the post to safety.
Despite hardly threatening, Guanghzou could have gone in at half-time level. Xu Liang's free-kick almost caught Cech off guard, but the Czech international managed to claw the ball onto the post.
Frank Lampard added a sublime second, taking a look up before lobbing the goalkeeper from outside the box.
Nineteen-year-old Franco Di Santo made his first senior appearance for the club, and hit the post in the 67th minute. However, he wouldn't have long to wait for his first senior goal, sliding in to tap the ball into the net from a Florent Malouda cross after 78 minutes.
Malouda then provided another assist, crossing the ball into the box from a Wayne Bridge cutback, with Shaun Wright-Phillips taking a touch before firing the ball past Ghangzhou's goalkeeper.
The score line could so easily have been more, but Luiz Felipe Scolari will have been happy with the performance, with Kalou and Mikel impressing in particular.
The only downside was an injury sustained by new signing Jose Bosingwa, who went off after 20 minutes.
Chelsea's next preseason game is against Chengdu Blades in Macau on Saturday.
Chelsea first half (4-2-2-2) Cech; Bosingwa (Ferreira 21), Carvalho, Terry (c), A Cole; Essien, Mikel; Lampard, Deco; Anelka, Kalou.
Chelsea second half (4-3-3) Cudicini; Ferreira, Carvalho, Alex, Bridge; Deco (Ivanovic 62), Mikel, Lampard (c); Kalou (Wright-Phillips 57), Di Santo, Malouda.
