According to BBC & ESPN, Arsenal have rejected a formal offer made from Spanish giants Barcelona, making the following statement

"In response, we immediately and resolutely told them once again we have no intention of selling our captain."

The Arsenal statement added: "To be clear, we will not make any kind of counter proposal or enter into any discussion.

"Barcelona have publicly stated that they will respect our position and we expect that they will keep their word."

Meanwhile Arsenal veteran Sol Campbell's time at Arsenal could already be at an end with the defender having opened talks with Celtic.

Chelsea may soon be facing a raid from former manager José Mourinho, as the Real Madrid boss looks at adding Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole to his teams roster for next season.
