LSU: The Greatest BCS Championship Program of All Time

Here is the way it is.  We've had 10 BCS champions.  Only one team has won more than one—LSU.

So, LSU is the best program at winning BCS championships.

I shall project some of the comments and questions I will receive over this article:

1) "Notre Dame and Alabama are the best of all time, and you know it."

No, neither Alabama or Notre Dame has ever won a BCS title. Never even played in the championship game.

2) "The USC Trojans have won far more titles than LSU."

No, the Trojans have one, just like Tennessee, Florida, Miami, Oklahoma, Florida State, Ohio State, and Texas.

3) "You are so biased against Ohio State.  We can dot that I with our band, so we don't need your inbred moonshine opinion on anything."

OK, another reason we may need universal health care is so folks can get the help they need.

4) "You are so pro your beloved Big Ten, you think they have the best teams."

Well, which is it? I've heard of bi-sexual but never bi-sectional.  Curious Yellow?

5) "I've been following football a long time, ever since Steve Spurrier came to South Carolina, and I'm telling you: You're wrong!"

Well, all righty then...

6) "You never lose an opportunity to disparage the ACC."

Fascinating.  The ACC has 12 teams who have won a total of 14 football national titles, and five of those titles were won by the schools when they were members of the ACC.

7) "Vince Young is the best player of all time, and that makes the Texas '05 champions the best team of all time."

Maybe, maybe.  You just could be right.

8) "Pete Carroll is commonly accepted as the best college football coach in the game today.  You have an East coast (or is it SEC?) bias toward the Pac-10."

Carroll might be the best coach, but they still just have one BCS title.

9) "LSU is just winning with someone else's players."

I agree—how about the way Frank Solich won all those national titles with Tom Osborne's players?  Wait...

10) "Who cares what you think, you old man!"
