Molina, Yankees Win With Walk-Off HBP in Twelve
In a four hour and forty five minute game, the New York Yankees defeated the Oakland A's in 12 innings on Saturday afternoon, 4-3.
Joba Chamberlain started for the Yankees and was superb. Chamberlain went six innings, gave up one run on six hits, walked one, and punched out eight.
Sean Gallagher took the ball for Oakland. Gallagher also pitched a good game, going five innings, allowing two runs on seven hits, walking four, and striking out seven.

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
After the 2007 Super Bowl Champion New York Giants' Head Coach Tom Coughlin tossed out the honorary first pitch, the game was underway.
The Yanks got their first two runs in the bottom of the second inning with run production from Melky Cabrera and Brett Gardner. They each recorded an RBI in the inning.
Chamberlain was plowing through, but the A's managed to get on the board in the top of the fifth inning. Ryan Sweeney hit a sacrifice fly to score Matt Murton, making the score 2-1.
With Jose Veras on in relief in the top of the seventh, the A's tied the game. Wes Bankston scored on a wild pitch from Veras to knot the game at two.
The Yankees brought Mariano Rivera into the game in the top of the ninth in a non-save situation. Rivera gave up an RBI double to Sweeney to score Rajai Davis and the A's took a 3-2 lead in the top of the ninth.
In the bottom of the ninth, the Yankees came back. After a double by Robinson Cano, Wilson Betemit smacked a single to score Cano and tie the game at 3-3. The Bombers were down to their final strike when Betemit got the tying run in.
With the score held up at 3-3, the game dragged on into extra innings.
In the bottom of the 12th with Derek Jeter, Alex Rodriguez, and Richie Sexson on base, Jose Molina got hit on his right knee by Lenny DiNardo to score Jeter from third. Molina is credited with a walk-off, RBI hit-by-pitch to win the game for the Yankees.
"It's great to win the game, but it hurts!" said Molina after the game.
On another note, Cano swung a hot bat today, going 4-6 with two runs scored.
Also, the Yankees' pitchers struck out a combined 18 batters today which is a season-high for the Yankees.
David Robertson recorded his first major league win and is 1-0 on the year. Veras recorded a blown save, his first of the year.
DiNardo surrendered the HBP to give the Yanks the win and takes the loss. He is now 1-2 on the campaign. Huston Street recorded a blown save as he failed to get Betemit out in the ninth. This is Street's fifth BS on the year.
The Yankees will look for a sweep tomorrow afternoon while the A's look to salvage the final game of the weekend series.
Andy Pettitte (10-7, 4.03 ERA) will square off with Justin Duchscherer (10-5, 1.82 ERA) in the series finale tomorrow afternoon at 1:05 ET.
