Brandon Jennings Can't Make the Grade

So, as I used to do a while back, here I am doing what I like to call my Rant of the Day. And what will I be ranting about on this great day?
Well, I thought I would talk about my favorite sport—college basketball—and what is going on with the Brandon Jennings saga.
I am fine with the young man going to Italy. If he doesn't want to go to college, why should he be forced to do so? I am fine with him going overseas. If that's what he wants, so be it. So where is my rant you might ask?
I'd like to know and understand how someone that is keeping a "B" average in high school—prep school for that matter—cannot pass the SAT. No one—unless I missed one of the hundreds of articles on this young man—has talked about this.
Heck, I doubt it has been mentioned even in passing. Well, while I am not mainstream media, I want to rant about this matter. I want to understand why this isn't news.
How come someone with supposedly good grades isn't ready to pass the SATs? Am I the only one that thinks there is something very, very wrong with this picture? I sure do think so!
Someone help me out here. The young man fails the SATs the first time, does so well the second time that he is red flagged, and then fails once again. And no one thinks about what is going on, besides where is he going now to play?
Without a doubt, the comeback discussion is going to be that because he is going to the NBA, why does he need the education?
To that, I say what happens (and I hope it never does) if someone gets hurt? An education is the last thing that these students think about, while I think it should be the first. Oak Hill Academy, as well as all the high schools and prep schools out there, should be thinking about that as well.
I know as fans we look at all those great players (Kobe, James, Garnett) that made the jump and have had great careers. Anyone think about those that made the jump and never got drafted? Where are they now? I don't know, but I am sure if they had gotten a college education they would be doing better.
