Well I've learned a few things this week, mainly don't piss off Montreal Canadiens fans on the Bleacher Report, but I also picked up a few tid bits in my travels chatting with some friends in the game.
What does that mean exactly?
Well how about another installment of the NHL insider.
Ted Nolan Longing to Leave the Island
After a brief chat a few weeks back with Ted Nolan in Sault Ste. Marie at the National Aboriginal Hockey tournament, he made it clear he and his wife were not happy on Long Island and wanted out.
So when GM Garth Snow dismissed Nolan of his coaching duties earlier this week it wasn't much of a shock.
So what is next for Ted?
Well he would love an opportunity to work in Toronto, either with the Leafs or Marlies in some capacity.
Don't hold your breath Mr. Nolan, Wilson ain't no geek off the street and will earn his keep, and as far as the Marlies are concerned Greg Gilbert coached his team to a division title last season.
Dawes in Sather's "Dawg" House?
I've heard from sources around the Rangers that GM Glen Sather isn't a fan of Nigel Dawes.
What's not to like?
For anyone that saw the kid play last year in his limited role, all he did was create even when his line-mates weren't doing anything.
You should be happy he re-signed to a one year deal well under his worth at $587,500.
All he has done is produced at every level, and he will definitely improve on his 29 points in 61 games next season with proper ice time.
You may just be kicking yourself when other teams take note Sather, for not throwing this "Dawg" a bone.
Lightning Keeps Striking
Lightning owners Oren Koules and Len Barrie made it clear earlier this week that they are not yet done fine tuning their roster for the upcoming season.
If rumours are true, the Bolts are talking with the defence rich Calgary Flames trying to acquire Corey Sarich in exchange for Jeff Halpern.
Sarich played for the Lightning for 7 seasons before joining the Flames last year, and has become expendable with the signing of Mark Giordano this week.
Jeff Halpern is coming off a decent season that saw him pop in 20 goals with the Lightning and Stars, but with the addition of number one pick Steven Stamkos he is now trade bait.
Quenneville Enjoys Long Island Iced Tea
Apparently sipping long island iced teas after a round of golf may have been foreshadowing as the Islanders are set to hire the former Colorado bench boss.
Quenneville was actually drinking the sweet tea when GM Garth Snow gave him the call.
"It may have been good luck," Quenneville said.
Well looking at your roster for next season, you may want to have it in your water bottle Joel, it's gonna be another "Long" season.

The Islanders aren't interesting enough now?
It's like watching a soap opera.
Adding Torts to the mix might just cause the universe to implode.

It's Glen Sather not Tom Renney who doesn't believe Dawes is the real deal fellas...as far as I know Renney is okay with the kid, Sather however almost didn't resign him.

Do you have an actual link to an article from a reporter that Joel Quenneville was offered the Islanders coaching job?
The Article in the Sault Star at that tournament on 5/2 does not have a single quote from Ted Nolan he or his wife would not be back and inteneded to fulfil his contract obligations in New York and perhaps earn another one.
