Phil Jones : Is The Rovers "Idol" The New Kid On The Block For Arsenal

Arsenal have for quite sometime now been frantically searching for defensive options. Arsene Wenger has for than once been caught on the wrong foot with defensive choices like Silvestre against Barcelona match.

As it stands now Arsenal are one of the Top teams in the Premier League which really doesn't really boast of a heavy english contingent, with Arsene Wenger's obvious love for his country men.

Phil Jones also is just an 18 year old which should suit Wenger fine as he has a reputation of nursing young talents to great heights. With the physically strong approach to the game being in-built in the youngster as an approach Black burn Rovers follow, the lad has all the qualities to sustain the physically demanding game that Premier League has inherited. The Blackburn defence has for certain troubled top teams at Ewood Park this season,the influx of Jones has all but strengthened that as their performances against Chelsea and Manchester United of late show.  In both these matches Jones showed great maturity and defended with a lot of grit.

Thus, this recent coup that is being reported by Arsenal could very well be a long term replacement for Gallas and be as useful as Vermaelen has been to them this season. This would also aid Arsenal to do away with veterans on the pitch who could well prove paceless against the counter active football that has evolved in the Premier League.

Phil Jones is very highly rated player at Ewood park, by Sam Allardyce and has sure shown signs that he deserves a much better platform, something which Arsenal and Arsene Wenger could very well provide the lad with.
