2010 WWE Draft Predictions: Shaking Things Up

Micheal RobinsonSenior Analyst IIApril 26, 2010

It's that time of the year again in the world of the WWE.

WrestleMania has passed... Backlash... I mean, Extreme Rules has passed and its time now for the WWE Draft.

Other then previous years, we are down to two brands, instead of three, drafting various stars onto their respective show.  This isn't like a real draft, nothing more then a storyline of moving wrestlers from one show to another for whatever reason deemed necessary.

Here is what I have come up with by just sitting around and thinking about it.  Really, its a shot in the dark.

Randy Orton remains on Raw
Rumors have ran wild that "The Legend Killer" Randy Orton would be leaving Raw and going to Smackdown.  At first, I saw it possible with him winning the World Title at Extreme Rules and John Cena keeping the WWE belt on Raw.  With Swagger retaining, I don't like the move for Orton now.  I only believed it, if he had the belt going into the show.

Drew McIntyre to Raw
Last Friday on Smackdown, McIntyre told Matt Hardy, "I never want to see you again."  Now, this could mean a number of things.  Hardy has been rumored to join is brother in TNA by years end, and with all of the Twitter comments Matt has left recently about his WWE career on Twitter, maybe that is possible.  However, I feel this means McIntyre has wrestled his last Smackdown match of 2010.  I believe it is time for McIntyre to perform on weekly live programming in the WWE and I would love a switch to Raw for him.  He is one of my favorite newcomers in quite some time.  Watch out Cena (if you are still on Raw), "...your out of time, so say goodbye."

Sheamus...Triple H to Smackdown
With a rumored neck injury, and his wife due to be pregnant soon, it looks like they will sell an Extreme Rules injury by the hands of Sheamus and Triple H will follow Sheamus to Smackdown.  I can see them announcing Sheamus first, and then immediately follow with announcing The Game to follow him, setting up a rematch this summer.

Edge to Raw
With Batista possibly leaving the WWE, and figuring Triple H may move to Smackdown, and/or take some time off, I can see the Rated R Superstar going to Raw.  The only problem with this is he would most likely have to turn heel to face the baby face John Cena if he were to fued with him right off the bat, which shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Who knows what will happen, you can read spoilers, you can guess, but until it actually happens, sometimes we never know.  I like to be taking by surprise when I watch wrestling, so if none of my predictions happen, I can live with that.
