WWE Draft Preview: Old Faces In New Places, Part Six
For the past three weeks, I've been previewing one of the most anticipated nights on the WWE calendar, the annual draft. In five separate installments, I've highlighted moves I think WWE creative needs to makeāwhether it be during or after the draft.
Part Five focused on Drew McIntyre and his push to the world title. McIntyre would drop the Intercontinental Title, likely in a triple threat match to not give away any momentum, in order to focus on the bright lights of the main event level.
If you missed any parts of the series, here's a recap of Parts One through Four.

Part Four- Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes compete on different shows.
Part Three- John Morrison moves to Raw
Part Two- Dolph Ziggler moves to Raw
Part One- Kofi Kingston moves to Smackdown
The final installment before tonight's draft focuses on one of the company's most popular and underutilized superstars, and his well overdue push.
Christian moves to Smackdown
Not since Rob Van Dam has there been a more popular superstar without a true WWE world title reign. Christian has paid his dues for jumping ship to TNA, and now is the time Captain Charisma takes his spot in the upper echelon of the WWE Universe.
For starters, Christian doesn't really have a solid program on Raw. If Vince McMahon is trying to bury Christian, keeping him on Raw is the perfect way to do so. But if McMahon is smart (which he is) and able to swallow his opinion-based pride (the jury is out), Christian will find his way to the diluted waters of Smackdown.
Once he gets to Smackdown, Christian could enter the Intercontinental Title picture, eventually getting the strap in the aforementioned triple threat match involving Drew McIntyre and another superstar.
After a strong run with the belt, Christian could potentially turn heel to enter the often talked-about feud with his kayfabe brother, Edge.Ā
A feud with Edge would accomplish two things. First, Christian would become legitimized as a top-tier competitor by engaging in a long-standing feud with the five-time world champion. Second, it would open up new possibilities for Christian's character--future feuds with Kofi Kingston and Rey Mysterio (if Christian turns heel) or Chris Jericho and CM Punk (if Christian remains face).
There really is little doubt Christian can make it as a top-tier competitor. He was a world champion in TNA, he is excellent on the mic, and as long as he is a face, the crowd will remain firmly behind him.
The biggest snag in this plan is Vince McMahon. In the past, McMahon has said he doesn't believe Christian is capable of being a world champion. If McMahon holds true on that opinion, Christian will never see the main event stage. If not, however, the sky may be the limit for Captain Charisma.
