John Cena: The Man WWE Fans Hate To Love But Love To Hate

John BetschelApr 26, 2010

The current face of the WWE, John Cena has been in movies, commercials, TV shows, and is starting to follow in the footsteps of The Rock it seems.

They're a lot of little kids out there that just absolutely love this guy, but more of the older WWE generation loathe him, and I'm one of them.

The date was June 27th 2002, Smackdown. Kurt Angle had just made an open challenge to anybody in the locker room.

And after a speech by Mr. McMahon exhorting the up and coming superstars to show "ruthless aggression" to earn a place among the legends, John Cena made his debut.

He took it to Kurt Angle even kicking out of the Olympic Slam, and outlasting the ankle lock. But ultimately losing after an amateur wrestling style pin.

Cena then became a fan favorite and began feuding with Chris Jericho.

Later that year he teamed with Billy Kidman, to enter a tag team tournament to try and become the first WWE Tag Team Champions of the Smackdown brand.

After losing in the first round, Cena turned on Kidman blaming him for his loss.

Shortly thereafter, Cena dressed up and performed a freestyle rap on a Halloween themed episode of Smackdown, and thus his white rapper gimmick was born.

As it grew, Cena began chasing the then WWE Champion Brock Lesnar. Debuting his new finisher the FU (now called the Attitude Adjustment) mocking Lesnars F5.

He beat Lesnar to gain a number one contender shot, but then lost when the belt was on the line.

At the end of 2003, Cena then became face again when he joined Kurt Angle on his Survivor Series team.

Cena participated in his very first Royal Rumble in 2004, making it down to the last six competitors before being eliminated by The Big Show, which started a feud between the two.

He won the U.S. title from Show at Wrestlemania XX only to be stripped of it about four months later after he accidentally knocked over the then G.M., Kurt Angle, thus "attacking an official".

Cena later won it back against Booker T in a best out of five match, which culminated at No Mercy, only to lose it again to Carlito in his WWE debut.

Cena decided to take some time off to film one of the worst movies in history, The Marine. The WWE used a storyline saying that Cena was stabbed in the kidney by Carlito's bodyguard in a Boston area night club.

Upon his return, he immediately won the belt back (which seems to be a trend with him). Then after entering a feud with JBL and his cabinet, he lost the belt to Orlando Jordan.

But then Cena won his very first world title against JBL at Wrestlemania XXI.

Since then, we have seen Cena win numerous more championships and also enter numerous different feuds in the process.

With superstars the likes of Edge,Ā Batista, HHH, and Randy Orton.

He has torn his pectoral muscle, broke his neck, and also been choke slammed off the stage into a spotlight.

I want to give people some insight to stuff they might not know about Cena, and possibly why he is hated so much.

John Cena is a phony, a fake, and is just so awful he can't even come up with anything on his own and has to steal stuff from others.

Take his whole "you can't see me" that has everyone from little kids, to famous actors and comedians doing the hand wave like he created it, WRONG!

The hand wave thing he does heĀ took fromĀ a rapper by the name of Tony Yayo, who did it in his music video "So Seductive", which was released June 7th 2005.

The "you can't see me line" was originally used by Tupac Shakur, in a song appropriately titled "Can't C Me," which was released back in 1996 on Shakurs "All Eyez On Me" album.

Cena and the WWE have a law suit filed against them by rap group M.O.P., saying that they took parts out of their song "Ante Up" (released in 2000), and used it in Cenas "You Can't See Me" entrance theme.

If your not familiar with the song download it, and you will see that they are absolutely right!

Cena also got a pair of dog tags for just spending a few weeks at a military base, so he could get in character for "The Marine."

I am a former U.S. Air force member, and I had to bust my ass each and every day for seven-and-a-half weeks from four in the morning (sometimes earlier) till nine at night, having to pass physical among mental tests in order to EARN my dog tags.

For John Cena to just spend a few weeks at a base just so he can ACT like a Marine, and get a pair of dog tags for it?Ā

In my mind that is a spit in the face of every single military member.

Then you have Cenas mic skills, instead of trying to be original like he was with his rap gimmick, he has to try and be like The Rock. For those of you that were huge Rock fans like I was you know, what I'm saying.

Cena also has criticized The Rock, saying that he claimed he loved the business, but then at the first chance he got left to pursue a movie career.

It seems to me like Cena is starting to do the exact same thing, he is staring in movies, doing "kiddy" shows, commercials, you name it.

I believe that if given the success that The Rock had in the movie business, John Cena would do the exact same thing because he is nothing but a hypocrite!

After giving all of this info on John Cena, has your opinion of him changed? Hate him or love him, you tell me?
