Well, early today a rumor was going around which could be the beginning of the end for Del Negro.

Rumor is, via ESPN, that Vinny Del Negro is a "goner."

Many rumors have been swelling over the past several months as Del Negro being a "dead man walking."

Also, many insiders close to the situation have been relaying information suggestion they would be "surprised" if he returns as the Bulls coach when the season begins next year.

Del Negro has put up a mediocre record of 82-82 in his first two seasons as the Chicago Bulls head coach.

Although his record may not stand out, he has led the Bulls to two consecutive playoff births.

So, why fire a coach who has been somewhat successful over his first two years and looks to have a bright future with the possibility of landing a top-notch free agent?

He has been on the hot seat primarily due to his clashes with the front office of the Bulls organization.

His most recent incident was when he got in a tussle with John Paxson, the VP of Basketball Operations.

The investigation has brought out the conclusion that Del Negro was the instigator of the shoving match.

The physical altercation came at the worst time possible—right in the middle of the chase for the last playoff spot in the East.

Only time will tell whether this rumor is true, but all signs are pointing towards Del Negro's release.
