2010 NFL Draft Results: Fate Gives the Cleveland Browns a Motivated Colt McCoy
With the second and third rounds of the 2010 NFL Draft finished, the Cleveland Browns took risks and played with fate to, in the end, land the quarterback they wanted in Texas's Colt McCoy.
After passing on McCoy with their first pick in the second round of the draft, the Browns aggressively traded back into the second round.
When this happened, you could almost hear every single Browns fans on planet Earth gasp in anticipation of hearing McCoy's name getting read off the the index card at the podium which was in the center of the stage at Radio City Music Hall.

Sadly, his name was not called.
As the night progressed, more and more teams were still passing on picking the Longhorn, then that magical moment finally came to fruition when the Browns once again picked with the 85th pick in the third round.
McCoy was officially a member of the orange and brown!
Experts said this was a clear-cut example of the lack of talent in the quarterback class this year, but somehow, someway it seems like it was more fate taking control.
Holmgren must have been giddy to have fate hand him his preferred quarterback of choice in the third round, but more importantly the Browns have a quarterback who is not only very talented, but highly motivated to prove everyone else in the NFL wrong.
On a side note, this scenario is very reminiscent of how many saw Drew Brees, who also fell in his draft and look how motivated he was.
Motivation is one of the keys to success for any athlete and could be the "X-Factor" for many to reach goals that are very high.
Only time will tell if this is true, and McCoy succeeds with the Browns, but Holmgren's resume with quarterbacks alone should be reason to not doubt the possibilities.
Welcome to Cleveland, Colt!
