David Reutimann Leads Aarons 499 Cup Practice From Talladega
David Reutimann was fastest in Friday practice for the Aarons 499 @ Talladega Superspeedway in Talladega, Alabama. Reutimann topped the charts at a 48.249 @ 198.470 mph ahead of Regan Smith who was second and Jeff Gordon in third. Reutimann is running the Alabama NCAA National Champions Aarons 00 car this weekend and what a great weekend it would be if he could put that car in victory lane for the first time in 2010. Drafting speeds were very high in this first practice and as to what effect the spoiler will have with the new car is yet to be seen. The one thing is this practice was the two car pull away seems to still be there and how two cars can run away for a little but the pack does close back up. Practice session two is set for 3:30pm ET on Speed ahead of Saturday qualifying on Speed at 11:30am ET.
