Overview
The 2007 season finally gave Bulldog fans a glimpse of what Coach Sylvester Croom might be capable of at Mississippi State.Ā With a surprising eight-win season, including a stunning win over Auburn and a narrow victory over in-state rival Ole Miss, expectations are higher than ever in Starkville.
Croom and the Bulldogs will return one of the best running games in the SEC, led by Anthony Dixon and Christian Ducre.Ā The Bulldogs will hope to ride these two backs while budding quarterback Wesley Carroll continues to develop as an SEC quarterback.
Despite losing some star players on defense, the Bulldogs should still return a pretty capable unit in 2008.
Mississippi State is already recruiting extremely well, and their 2009 class is already ranked in the Top 15 on most recruiting services.Ā However, with big question marks at quarterback for division favorites LSU and Auburn, 2008 may be the Bulldogs' best chance to make a shocking SEC Championship appearance.
With a little improvement and a lot of luck, Sylvester Croomās squad is capable of doing just that in 2008.
