Did the Vikings trade out of the 1st round to pick up Jimmy Clausen? The Vikings knew Clausen would not be picked up by either Indianapolis or New Orleans. Both of the teams have top tier Quarterback behind center. Now as long as the Rams do not trade away the 33 overall pick to the 49ers.Is Clausen in Minnesota's sights or do they have different plans.

The Viking were on the clock, but traded to Detroit Lions to move them out of the first round saw them send the #30 overall selection (which Detroit used to select California running back Jahvid Best) and their fourth-round pick (#128 overall) to the Lions in exchange for Detroit's second-round pick (#34 overall), their fourth-round pick (#100 overall), and their seventh-round pick (#214 overall).

Jimmy Clausen is in the Vikings sightings right now with them needed a QB of the future. It is obvious that Brett"The Ironman" Favre will not be playing football for another 20 years. Clausen is a very talents player and is a steal in the 2nd round. He has the arm strength and accuracy to make the deep homerun throws and well as the quick slant. Clausen’s a highly-competitive signal-caller who was has been very productive in a pro-style system during his career.

Clausen could be the future face of the Minnesota Vikings with the QB always held up at the top of the pedestal.Clausen has the intangibles that you cannot teach with the football smarts and leadership on the field. He plays through the pain if injured, look at him with the torn ligaments he had for 2 months.

If the Vikes do not select Clausen, then who will they go after with the 34th pick.

If the Vikings do not select him then who will the 49ers or the Bills?
