What's Up With Sean Waltman? Another TNA Mistake
Sean Waltman, better known to wrestling fans as X-Pac or Syxx-Pac, was a no-show at Sunday's TNA Lockdown pay-per-view event in St. Louis, Missouri.
He was advertised to appear in a tag team match alongside fellow member of "The Band," Scott Hall, to take on Team 3D at the cage themed event. Instead, Waltman never showed up and was replaced by Kevin Nash.
There have been conflicting reports posted on many of the wrestling news pages about whether or not Waltman had given the company advance notice that he would not be able to make the PPV. I've read everything from Waltman "not being paid enough" to having issues with his wrestling license in the state of Missouri. Who knows what is true or not?

Regardless, he was advertised to appear up until the day of the event and failed to do so. It is another example of bad decision making by the head honchos at TNA.
Let's face the facts here, it is doubtful that many fans in attendance or those watching at home paid their money soley to see Syxx-Pac wrestle. He has not exactly been a big name in the mainstream wrestling scene since around 2006, when he faded out of the spotlight and into the independent circuit. In fact, most of the attention he has gotten over the past few years has been thanks to his sex tape with Chyna and his plethora of personal problems outside of the ring.
Despite being out of the spotlight for so long, Waltman finally got his chance to come back to a major wrestling promotion. He appeared along with his good friend Scott Hall on the historic January 4 live Impact, and has been working this "Band" storyline ever since. Waltman and Hall were no doubt brought in because of their relationship with Nash, though both men have been out of mainstream action for some time and have both had numerous issues with substance abuse.
It only took Waltman a few months to mess it all up.
Who knows what the fallout of the no-show will be? If Waltman didn't give TNA any notice and simply failed to appear, the simple answer is that he should no longer work for the company. If he did give them notice, then why was he still advertised to wrestle up until the show began? It is mind boggling stuff.
A few weeks ago TNA released Christopher Daniels, widely regarded as one of the top in-ring performers in wrestling today, reportedly because Daniels had complained about the direction the company was headed. If Daniels was not happy with how he was being used, it makes perfect sense that he would be let go, especially considering Dixie Carter's now infamous pre-Impact speech to the TNA roster a few months back.
Basically TNA had no idea what to do with a top-notch wrestler like Daniels, yet they are willing to work with someone like Waltman who is known for being irresponsible and unprofessional?
Maybe it's just me, but that makes no sense at all.
