A quick rundown of the QB's that have done the most for Arizona State Football. Many people may not agree but in my opinion these 5 quarterbacks have done more for ASU than any others. Feel free to let me know where you think I might have missed someone or put someone in the wrong order. Also this doesn't include any players but the QB's Please be kind it's my first article.

Andrew Walter

Walters career was much like this photo, bombing the football down the field at all times.

He led ASU over San Diego State in largest come-from-behind win in ASU history. Walter also surpassed NFL legend John Elway as the Pac-10's all time touchdown leader. Also bested Jake Plummer's ASU career passing marks and finished his career as ASU's career leading in passing yards, completions, attempts, touchdowns, interception percentage and total offense

Jeff Van Raaphorst

Raaphorst still calls ASU games for radio. Here are some of his accomplishments.

Led ASU to a Rose Bowl win and was awarded Rose Bowl MVP.
Set the ASU record for passing attempts in a game vs. Florida State in 1984 with 59 (since overtaken). Set the ASU record for passing attempts in a season with 337 in 1985 (since overtaken).Set the ASU record for the most completions in a game with 38 vs. FSU in 1984 and then tied his own record vs. Arizona in 1986 . Set the ASU completions in a season record in 1985 with 188 (since overtaken). Set a Sun Devil record with 532 passing yards vs. Florida State in 1984 (since overtaken). Set the record for the longest pass play from scrimmage with a 95-yard pass for TD vs. USC in 1985
Finished ASU career (1984-86) with 503 completions, which set a school record. Finished ASU career with 44 TD passes

Was the first great ASU quarterback paving the way for many others. Was named All-american in 1973.

Rudy Carpenter

Led ASU in total offense for 4 years. Led ASU to a share of the PAC-10 title in 2007 and though many were disappointed in his last years the numbers say it all. And I think these days ASU fans miss him dearly.

Started an FBS-best 43 consecutive games dating back to the 2005 season...totaled 10,491 passing yards, while completing 799-of-1,309 passes (61.0 pct.) with 81 touchdowns...the 799 completions are the most in school history, while he ranks second behind Andrew Walter in passing yards, pass attempts and touchdowns passes... his 61.0 completion percentage in his career is the best in ASU history...he is also tied for second in school history with 26 wins as a starting quarterback, behind only Danny White with 30...ranks in the top 10 all-time among Pac-10 quarterbacks in career passing yards, career touchdown passes and career yards of total offense...earned honorable mention All-Pac-10 honors for his sophomore, junior and senior seasons, and he received freshman All-America recognition in 2005...led the nation in three passing categories as a redshirt freshman in 2005 (passer efficiency rating, interception percentage and yards per passing attempt), while establishing a Pac-10 Conference record pass efficiency rating of 175.01, also the first time a freshman led the nation in the statistic...was the most accurate freshman passer in Division I-A history, completing an NCAA freshman record 68.4 percent of his passes.

Jake Plummer

No QB is more closely remembered with ASU than Jake "The Snake" Plummer. Led the team to an undefeated regular season in 1996 and ASU's second Rose Bowl in 1997
