Ā Ā Ā Northern Iowa had four players score in double figures as they maintained a double digit lead in the second half and defeated North Carolina-Wilmington 84-71 in a SMCAA East 2nd round contest.Ā Adam Koch led the way for the Panthers with 18 points including 4 three pointers.Ā Jordan Eglseder added 16 points, Kwadzo Ahelegbe had 13 points and 7 assists and Johhny Moran chipped in 10 points and 11 rebounds in the victory.Ā UNI shot well from the field, hitting 55% of their shots.
Ā Ā Ā The Seahawks got 15 points and 5 assists from Chad Tomko while Ahmad Grant added 11 points in the loss.Ā They each had 3 three pointers on the night.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā #14 Bradley 54, #19 Western Carolina 47
Ā Ā Ā Bradley closed the game on a 12-4 run over the last 5:30 to turn a one point deficit into a 54-42 win over Western Carolina in a 2nd round East game.Ā Bradley shot only 37% on the night, but played great defense in the victory, holding the Catamounts to 33% from the field and just 3 of 20 from three point range.Ā The Braves were led by Andrew Warren and his 18 points while Taylor Brown scored 14 points and had 11 rebounds for BU.
Ā Ā Ā Western Carolina actually out rebounded Bradley 40-33, but their poor shooting is what cost them in the game.Ā They had no one score in double figures and were led by 8 points apiece from Brandon Giles, Richie Gordon, and Kendall Russell.Ā The Catamounts also committed 25 fouls on the night, sending Bradley to the line for 26 attempts.

Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā #11 Portland 69, #22 Massachusetts 60
Ā Ā Ā Portland used a key 7-0 run over a four minute span of the second half to break open a tie game and go on to beat Massachusetts 69-60 in an East 2nd round match-up. With game tied at 50-50, T.J. Campbell hit a big three to start the run and the lead grew to seven with just 7:00 remaining.Ā Campbell ended up leading the Pilots with 17 points and 6 assists.Ā He also had 4 three pointers on the night.Ā Robin Smeulders was also in double figures with 16 points for Portland.
Ā Ā Ā The Minutemen got 14 points and 6 rebounds from Terrell Vinson and 13 points and 4 assists from Ricky Harris, but the Minutemen struggled shooting all night long.Ā They made just 35% of their shots and hit just 6 of 17 three point attempts.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā #6 Virginia Tech 85, #27 Mercer 63
Ā Ā Ā Virginia Tech scored 49 points in the first half and got out to an 18 point halftime lead in cruising to an 85-63 over Mercer in a 2nd round East blowout.Ā The Hokies shot 49% for the game and shot well from beyond the arc as well, hitting on 9 of 16 attempts.Ā Malcolm Delaney led Tech with 27 points and 6 assists.Ā Dorenzo Hudson also played well with 21 points on 8 of 13 shooting.Ā Jeff Allen added 19 points and 7 rebounds in the victory.
Ā Ā Ā The Bears got a good game from James Florence and his 23 points, including 4 three pointers.Ā Daniel Emerson chipped in 11 points and 13 rebounds in the loss.
