Appropriate Ring Attire For The Modern Day Wrestler: Part 1

This is my first ever article and hopefully it will be part of an amazing trilogy, kinda like Lord of the Rings films or Stone Cold and The Rock at Wrestlemania. 

Anyway as you can see in the above picture Chris Jericho is flexin his muscles wearing his old pony tail and his tights (not visible). That was when Jericho was Y2J with millions of Jericoholics at his feet. Part 1 will be discussing tights and underwear.

Now tights denote a sense of goodness. If you're wearing tights then you're almost automatically a face and you'll only find heel tights wearing wrestlers in feud with all-tight wearing wrestlers (like Y2J versus Christian). Tights are also mostly identified cruiserweights and is a popular attire for small, agile wrestlers because it may help their mobility in ring. So if you are wearing tights then you are a face. 9 times out of 10. 

Tights can also get old very quickly (HBK with pants)

Underwear however is a very neutral clothing style. Everyone wears underwear (duh!( wait what about Britney?)) but it's the way it is used that affects the user. Look at The Game Triple H. He couldn't have made the transition from the Connetticut Blueblood to the Game wearing office pants. NO!!! he had to wear cool underwear that let him show off his kneepads. Also more skin attracts more boos. 

Let's look at Y2J. As Y2J he wore tights which were really stylish. Then he started wearing the underwear to accompany his Best in the World gimmick. Instant heel transformation. Underwear also makes people take you more seriously as is the case with The Miz. 

Look at Aj Styles with his boxers. So take your pick which one is better. Tights or underwear?
