The 2010 F1 Drivers So Far... Lewis, Nico, Michael, Vettel, Senna, Etc.
Well everyone inside the paddock, outside the paddock, and F1 fans around the world are all really still wondering and predicting how the season will pan out. All the winter buzz and whats really going on in between races. The car developments, the 2010 'underlings' mid-pack battles, and of course the all important fight at the front.
Firstly, I know Mr. Vettel 'could' have won each race so far, but he didn't. The early pace of the RB6 is downright undeniable, but apparently the reliability is not. Red Bull and more importantly the people at Red Bull including the drivers are not familiar with this fight. Mr Vettel, as talented as he is, is still very young and has not grown into his talent. Perhaps his father should have followed him to every race as well.

Mr. Webber is simply not going to be a champion. He does not have it. I wouldn't be too surprised if he followed Mr. Barrichello back to the middle of the pack. Furthermore he is not Raikkonen, and as fast as the RB6 has been, I feel confident about seeing Finnish, German lineup for the 2011 season at RBR. Raikkonen has experience with very fast, very fragile cars from his time at McLaren. Word was that he had zero interest in the marketing side of a 2010 McLaren drive, this simply will not be an issue on a team named Red Bull.
Several driver lineups are very solid. McLaren have found a terrific partner for Mr. Hamilton. Well so far, by this time in 2007 the partnership looked incredible for the Woking team. Mr. Alsono has quite a different take to his job then Mr. Button. I wonder if anyone remembers the press conference back in 2008 at Silverstone. There still may be something of an entertaining rivalry yet again at McLaren. 1989, 2007 and possibly going forward in 2010.
Mercedes GP the first works team since 1955 from Mercedes has a long term deal with Mr. Rosberg and we is doing fabulous. His illustrious team-mate and 7-time champion is still playing catch up. Which, as would be expected, is being dismissed as 'expected'. I don't see Michael Schumacher going anywhere unless it is out on top. Something he did not get to do in 2006.
Everybody's favorite, the team in red, did not re-sign Mr. Massa yet. Change some fortune for at least one of the races where, under no fault of his own he did not win in 08 (Singapore, Hungary) and then we would be talking about the first Brazilian since Aryton Senna as drivers champion. They obviously do not see him for a repeat. Ferrari have a habit of employing a dominate driver alongside a good driver. With Mr. Alonso starting this year, I see an opening for a new 'good' driver. With some understanding, with few exceptions, Mr. Massa tends to only win from pole position.
With regards to some of the recent additions to Formula 1 there is massive amounts of speculation of whats going on.
Of the not so new, Mr. Alguersuari has now points to his name. Whereas is more experienced team-mate Mr Buemi is doing 'ok'. With Toro Rosso, who knows what could happen, Mid-season driver changes without testing is easier done, then said.
At Sauber, many talk about Mr. de la Rosa being let go, but realistically, he has the experience, and can develop the car. The C29 needs help too. Mr. Kobayashi has yet to even finish.
Williams seems to have not been to concerned with performance in the past few years. Formula 1 is indeed a business, yet we all watch for the competition and excitement. Incoming GP2 alumni and the 2nd oldest man on track... I believe this is the last year for Formula 1's most experienced driver of all time.
Renault have an outstanding driver, and another driver that may very well go on to do good things for his team. Mr. Kubica is rumored to be teaming up with his good friend at Ferrari. The first ever Russian in F1, Mr. Vitaly Petrov, has been impressive so far. Well, that what many will say but has actually not finished a race.
This brings up the sponsorship/pay to drive aspect of 2010. Several drivers are bringing money to the table. Both HRT drivers Mr. Bruno Senna, and Mr. Karun Chandhok bring sponsorship deals to the cash strapped team. as well as the aforementioned Russian Mr. Petrov.
I believe there will be a great big shake up next season amongst the drivers we watch.
