Sanchez Excited About Holmes' Arrival: "It's Like Christmas"
No one is more excited about the New York Jets' acquisition of former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Santonio Holmes than Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez.
"It's like Christmas", Sanchez told reporters at the Jets practice facility on Thursday, "He's going to be a great addition for our team and we can't wait to start working with him".
Holmes put up career highs last season in receptions and receiving yards, but perhaps the most important aspect Holmes brings to the Jets organization is his experience.

"He knows what it takes to get to this level and play and perform", Sanchez explained.
Holmes was the MVP of Super Bowl XLIII after bringing down a spectacular game winning catch with 35 seconds left on the clock as the Steelers defeated the Arizona Cardinals.
The acquisition to of former Browns wide receiver Braylon Edwards provided the Jets receiving corps with a spark last season, but the occasionally butter-fingered Edwards failed to provide the Jets with consistent offensive production and big plays when they were needed.
With the addition of Homles, the Jets hope to have found a sure handed receiver and got to guy in crucial passing situations.
Some questions have arisen about Holmes' value and baggage recently after the newest Jet was hit with a four game suspension by the NFL for an undisclosed violation of the league's substance abuse policy.
It remains uncertain whether the risk the Jets have taken upon themselves by trading for Holmes will be rewarded, but one thing is certain, we won't have the slightest clue until week 5.
