So, Brett Favre wants to retire from retirement, something I didn't even know was possible, but there it is. Nothing more to say.

Besides, everything has already been said, hasn't it?  I've read countless articles, heard from hundreds of cheeseheads and listened to dozens of talking heads  about this entire situation.  What's left?

How about Favre himself from three different time periods?

Retiring Favre - "I am officially retiring from the NFL and the Green Bay Packers."

That's a shame, sorry to see you go Brett.  Hey, you're on David Letterman next month.  You still retired?

Letterman Favre - "I'm still retired."

Ok, you sure?  'Cause Letterman said there's a retirement form you've gotta' sign. Have you signed it?

Letterman Favre - "No, I haven't signed it."

Hmmm...I see.  So, you're coming back then?  Maybe?

Letterman Favre - "I think when training camp gets close, something is bound to happen.  Did I just say that?"

Yeah, you did. Hey, Retirement Favre, are those tears streaming down your cheeks?  When athletes cry, that usually means they're done, right?  Time to call it a career?

Retirement Favre - "I've given everything I possibly can give to this organization, to the game of football and I don't think I've got anything else to give and that's it."

I'm going to take your word on that, but what's the Favre who was on the Fox network the other day have to say about it?  What's that Fox Favre?  I didn't catch it.

Fox Favre - "I am guilty of retiring early..."

Wow!  Really?  'Cause Retirement Favre seems pretty sure it's a done deal.  Is that right, Retirement Favre?

Retirement Favre - "I know I can play, but I don't think I want to."

Whoa, whoa, whoa! Hold the phone! You don't think you want to?! Yes or no?!  Were you laying the groundwork for a return all along?!

Retirement Favre - "Fishing for different answers and what ifs and will he come back and things like that ... what matters is that it's been a great career for me and, um, it's over.  As hard for me to say, it's over."

Done and done!  That's good enough for me.

Fox Favre - "The bottom line, on March 3, when I got in front of the podium...'Did I want to play? Yes. One hundred percent? No,"

Oh, man.  I don't know what to believe any more!

Retirement Favre - "As they say, all good things ... all good things must come to an end."

Any idea when this drama will end? 'Cause I just wanna' watch some football.
