Brandon Marshall Shipped To Miami--Impacts On Both Franchises
Brandon Marshall and the Miami Dolphins agreed to a $47.5 million. The Dolphins agreed to send a second round pick in the 2010 and 2011 NFL draft to the Broncos in order to acquire the 6ā4āā 230 pound pro bowler who has had three consecutive seasons with over one hundred receptions.
As one of the blockbuster trades of the offseason, Marshallās departure will have impacts for both the Broncos and Marshallās new team in Miami.
The acquisition of Brandon Marshall helps the Dolphins in a variety of ways. Marshallās presence will provide a legitimate deep threat in the Dolphinās receiving corps for the first time in recent memory. The attention that Marshall will undoubtedly draw stands to help his new teammate, fourth year receiver Ted Ginn Jr. Ted Ginn Jr. isnāt the only player that stands to benefit from the arrival of Brandon Marshall in Miami. Dolphin quarterback Chad Henne, who will be entering only his second year as the starter in Miami will have a guy that is a threat to score the ball every time he catches the ball and put up twenty receptions week in and week out.

With opponents focusing attention on Marshall the field will open up for the two-headed rushing attack of Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams.
If Henne can prove that heās developed into a complete quarterback look for the Dolphins to win a lot of games this season and challenge the team that everyone is talking about in the AFC Eastāthe New York Jets.
One main question that has arisen from Marshallās departure from Denver is how the trade will affect the draft plans for both the front offices in Denver and Miami.
The Broncos who hold the 11th pick in the draft will likely look to fill the void in playmaking ability left in their team with the loss of Marshall. Donāt be surprised to see the Broncos draft former Oklahoma State wide receiver Dez Bryant should he drop that far. Bryant, like Marshall, is extremely talented but has been known to cause some headaches for coaches. Itāll be up to the Broncos front office and coaching staff to see if Bryantās baggage is worth drafting him with the 11th pick.
For the Miami Dolphins, who were the 25th ranked team in the league last season, the logical move is to work on improving on the defensive side of the ball.
