Messi Might be making his own luck following his amazing display of skill and talent against Arsenal for a place in the Champions League Semi Finals but Arjen Robben is a player that is definitely making a point-  or two to be precise.

Hailed a hero by the German press following a miracle goal to keep his new side Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League on away goals, against Manchester United, he certainly gives Real Madrid’s President Florentino Pérez reason to regret his decision to let him go.

Assessing the player’s recent transfer from Real Madrid FC to Bayern Munich it seems his efforts to stay on and play for the Most Expensive Spanish club in history passed unnoticed by Manager Manual Pellegrini and he was transferred.

Statistics showed the Dutchman to be one of the Spanish sides most important players in the pre-season games of 2009-10, he was however among players like Ruud van Nistelrooy whose place in the first team became threatened with the infamous signings of Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaká. Real Madrid accepted a bid of around €25 million for Robben from Bayern Munich.

His last statement to the press reflected his true feelings about transferring to Bayern  and quite rightly held feelings of a man with sheer disappointment at the way he was treated. Robben claimed he was "forced" to leave Real Madrid, saying that he "did not want to go, but the club wanted to sell him”.

So for Arjen Robben the wonder goal scored against Manchester United when his team was 2-1 down secured them a place in the Champions League Quarter– Finals. This is a clear reminder that revenge can be sweet. He has done what he does best and that is to deliver a technique with sheer mastery which can only be made possible from experience and pure motivation to succeed over others.

Robben is a player out to prove his worth and with 2 goals in his debut for Bayern Munich as a substitute, later defeating Fiorentina to the Semi Finals and the infamous win over Manchester United he may just do so with the weight of the Champions League trophy.

He has not only succeeded in adding value, passion and skill to his current team, but his instinct and motivation have made him invaluable at times of team crisis. He is a true team player and you can see that his spirit to fight on despite set backs in his personal and porfessional life , he is the driving force behind Bayern Munichs winning run this season.

His record is ongoing and only time will tell what the outcome of a player fighting for his respect and quite rightly the Champions League Trophy will be. But professional opinion based on his current form of play predicts a long winning streak for this dutchman.
