On a night where dreams would be shattered and made Manchester United were shockingly knocked out of the Champions league. But it does not come as a suprise to me due to the constant drama surrounding the Rooney injury. You cannot say that this helped the team turn round the devastating defeat at the Germans.

2 Hours before the game and shock amongst Britain that the news Wayne Rooney would not only return against the German giants but start the game. Then  the game starts and Manchester United have an unbelievable start. The youngster from Ireland Gibson with a powerful right footed drive to the low corner of the Germans goal. Then Nani slots home from around 12 yards. Rooney takes a knock and has to hop on but he is signalling he is fine to Sir Alex which of course was not the case. Then Olic finishes the half for Bayern with a tight angle goal that puts the game right back on.

Now the second half is where things start going down hill. Rafael who got a yellow card in the first half is pathetically clinging on to Ribery's shirt and like Sir Alex said 'Typical germans' start surrounding the ref and the young Brazilian sees red.

Rooney goes of with things still in the Red Devils driving seat until 10 men down United are caught sleeping from an incoming corner and who is there the ever reliant Arjen Robben. Four words describe him 'Signing of the season' as he volleyed home deliciously from outside the box. Game finishes and Manchester United are out of the Champions League.

Man Utd vs Blackburn easy game for some but Manchester United made the wrong decision to play Wayne Rooney in Europe in midweek and pay a heavy price when Berbatov is not in form. With no attacking force Manchester United are easily defended by Rovers and are held to a stalemate.

One man, One decision is the reason why Sir Alex and his army have blown their chances in Europe and England his name Wayne Rooney.
