Who Do We Watch On Draft Day?
So, it's draft day, and the suspense has been building.Ā We've been burning up our laptops checking the latest Free Agency moves, trades, Mock drafts (Everyone has one), draft forums, and chat rooms.Ā But, one of the key questions to be answered on draft day is this: Who do I watch during the draft?
Since articles on this site have ranged from the ridiculous to the sublime, I thought that I'd throw this one out there just for fun.Ā Let's take a whimsical peek at our options:
ESPN? (Also known as the "Mel Kiper Telethon")

2025 Draft Picks Ready For Leap šø
NFLN?Ā (Tim Mayock's best minutes.)
Both of the above?Ā (Note to self: Replace batteries in the remote control.)
MSNBC?Ā (Gotta watch that "Crawl".)
CSPAN?Ā (The Liars Club.Ā This includes all NFL GM's.)
Watching the insides of our eyelids?Ā (Honey, I TOLD YOU TO WAKE ME AT 7:30PM! NOT 7:30AM!!)
There's also the radio/TV hybrid option.Ā Listening to "The Fan", or "The Ticket" while watching one of the above. (Note to self: Take meds in preparation for expletive laden rants by angry Lions fans.)
The other intriguing possibility is that we fire up the computer, and the TV.Ā Now, we can hurl insults at each other's mock drafts via the internet while screaming at the TV over perceived blunders by our team during the draft.
I, personally will invoke the Internet/TV hybrid option. I'll definitely reserve a window for DRAFTTEK.com.Ā They have a computerized mock draft (CMD) that is interactive.Ā As players are taken, the entire mock draft board will be reset in 15 seconds.Ā Most, if not all mock drafts will be garbage by the 11th. pick.
I will also reserve a window for Bleacher Report. Now, on draft day, we should have an article posted that will allow us to throw digital excrement at one another while watching the draft. Who knows?Ā Perhaps we may even share a meaningful dialogue.
I await your thoughts with baited breath.
