Kyle Busch Wins Wild Phoenix Nationwide Race

Dustin H.Apr 10, 2010

Kyle Busch had a wild night in Phoenix on Friday night from dominant lead to a accident on pit road, transmission trouble and dont forget a pass thru penalty for jumping the restart he still managed to go to victory lane in what was a wild race at Phoenix International Raceway. Carl Edwards started from pole but Busch would get the lead early and continue to dominant the first caution flew at lap 15 when Michael Annett spun. Kyle Busch would give up the lead and come to pit road with Greg Biffle, Paul Menard and others and the lead goes to Keselowski on the restart at lap 21. Clint Bowyer who took over the 21 ride for RCR from John Wes Townley would spin on lap 31 and the caution flew again he seemed to be having a problem with the battery. Kyle Busch would get the lead back and have 1.8 second lead at one time in the race until the caution came out again at lap 73 when Michael Annett had brake failure and would crash. Lap 112 Steve Wallace and Mike Wallace get together, Steve would suffer heavy contact and remember he was racing with a broken foot after Nashville so his luch the past few races has been terrible. At Lap 137 on the restart a multi car crash takes several drivers out of the race such as Landon Cassill,Casey Mears, John Borneman, James Buescher also Trevor Bayne and Derrick Cope, Colin Braun, Jason Leffler, Brian Scott and Clint Bowyer would all end up with damage. Kyle Busch jumped the restart and got a big lead well he would get the black flag and have to come to pit road for a penalty but he was'nt done. Keselowski would take the lead and battle with Joey Logano and Logano would pull out to a big lead before the caution came out with 13 laps to go and Logano would bring the leaders down pit road. Kelly Bires and Justin Allgaier got together on pit road and both suffered damage, Busch and Logano had contact earlier on the tight pit road. Logano restarts on lap 192 with 8 laps to go and he would battle with Biffle and Keselowski well Brad Keselowski takes the lead and would'nt hold it too long because Kyle Busch who started in 10th on the restart comes to the font and takes the lead and win in Phoenix. Kyle Busch who led the most laps and took the win after all those issues just goes to show how good he really is. The Nationwide Series goes to Texas next weekend where Kyle is going for five wins in a row.
