Messi, The Referee, and The Linesman Take Barcelona to SemiFinals
For those who did not watch the game, I'll sum up a few very important points:
Barcelona are, by far, a bigger one man team than Manchester United.
Rooney can shine through the average names of Fletcher, Neville and such, but Messi shines, when they have the likes of Xavi, Alves, and the like.
Perhaps the Barcelona fans can use Ibrahimovic's goals in the last game as an example to state otherwise, but that was obviously a rare occasion.
Referees in Europe favor Barcelona by a huge margin over the other teams.
Perhaps the Barcelona fans will accuse this of being a poor article written by a sore loser, such is to be expected by them.
However, I assure you I'm as calm as can be, the Arsenal fans expected that an almost fully fit Barcelona squad would easily beat the Arsenal second team.
But it's safe to say that Arsenal were this year's Chelsea against the European Champions.
The manner in which Arsenal were being treated, is unjust.
Today, Arsenal were being cheated out of every 50-50, when the referee simply gives free fouls, absolute freebies to Barcelona.
Arsenal players have received meaningless yellow cards, and most notably, a brilliant tackle by Denilson, where he received a yellow card and a fouled where Barcelona almost scored because of a biased referee.
Messi is no different from Ronaldo when it comes to cheating.
Perhaps the most debatable topic of all.
Messi has been applauded for his skill and talent, but people tend to turn the other cheek when ever he does something dirty in football.
Messi made a dive today, and gave Denilson an undeserved yellow card, no one even mentioned that.
Against Shakhtar Donestk, Messi showed some of the most unprofessional behaviour to be displayed, but the referee didn't even give him a yellow card, when anyone else would've received a red card, especially if they were from Shakhtar Donestk.
They need him on the field so Barcelona can win, because quite simply, screw the other teams.
Now, Arsenal were playing with the majority of the second team, this isn't an exaggeration.
Silvestre, Rosicky, Walcott, and a few other names were playing.
Needless to say, Arsenal had a very hard task to handle.
The referees didn't help at all, from the first 15 minutes, it was obvious this was gonna be a one way refereeing game.
Arsenal scored the first goal of the game through Bendtner, the Dane was lucky to get a second chance after Valdes' save, and he made no mistakes to convert.
Minutes later, Messi's luck, along with Silvestre's inadequacy gave Barcelona a goal, the Argentine received a gift from the Frenchman, and he fired one in.
After that, Bendtner went on to be one on one against Valdes, but the linesman judged Bendtner offside.
Replays proved that the Dane was onside, ruining for Arsenal the chance to go one ahead in such a crucial game.
After that, Arsenal received a foul, and played it right away, but the referee told them to play it again, ruining for Arsenal a chance to attack.
Messi then scored his second, not much Almunia could do about it, none can complain.
Keita, Milito, and Bisquets all played aggressively against Walcott, whenever he made a run they tackled, knowing they can't cope with his speed, but miraculously, not one of them received a yellow card, while the Arsenal team were receiving them for free.
Before the break, Messi scored his hat-trick through a well taken lob, where Almunia was found guilty, seeing how it was quite obvious Messi was going to lob him.
After the break, Arsenal pressed on, but whenever a foul was made, the referee would just wave play on.
Clichy then crossed a great ball to Bendtner, and the Dane hit the post, but the linesman yet again ruled him as offside.
Replays proved that he was again, onside.
Barcelona then received a foul in Arsenal's half, and Messi played right away without a whistle, to give Pedro the chance to score, and surprisingly, the referee said nothing.
Seconds later, Arsenal received a foul, and played it right away, but for the referee to order them to replay it.
Apparently, some teams like Barcelona are above the law.
In truth, statistics on fouls were nothing but a lie in this game, making Arsenal look like some aggressive Bolton side, and Barcelona as the innocent team.
Messi then scored his fourth of the night, were the ball would just hit him again after the defenders would intercept it, the standard luck of Arshavin comes to mind here.
In all honesty, you can't have the referees helping the stronger teams no matter what the cost, why not just put them in the final right away?
Barcelona were favorites with or without the referee, but to kill of the chances of a half missing Arsenal side in such an obvious manner is just ridiculous.
It's quite obvious who is gonna win this year's CL, and it's safe to say that Barcelona will get a few freebies like they had against Chelsea last year.
