Monday Meet and Greet: David Lemieux
Usually I reserve this spot for a world champion who fought this past weekend and is little known. The only legitimate world title fight was David Haye and we all know him.
Instead I am going to focus on an up and coming fighter who got his career best win this past weekend.
Record : 22-0 (21 KO)

Fight I Want to See
If he stays in the super middleweight division I would like to see him fight an older veteran like Fulgencio Zuniga or Enrique Ornelas. Someone like Ornelas would really prove if his power is for real.
If not one of those two guys, a fight against Paul Smith would be interesting. Smith is a solid contender and is the current BBBofC British super middleweight champion. This would be a fight between two young guys and it could vault one of them to the next level.
At middleweight he would probably be overmatched against Danny Jacobs but again it would be two young guys with punching power. If not him a old veteran like Lukas Konecy would be interesting.
What Is in His Future
He already has a fight slated for 6-11-2010 against the ever dangerous TBA. I have no idea against who but I hope he builds off of the career best win against Smichet.
Hopefully he will continue to step up and get closer to a world title shot. He has a ton of time at 21 but I am interested to see if he and his power areĀ for real or not.
Quick Update: According to his promoter it appears that Lemieux will fight someone who recently had a title shot. It appears that it will be Miguel Espino. I like the move as it appears they are getting him geared up for a title shot.
