Duke Butler Game Excites While NBA Bores
The Butler Michigan State game this weekend was somewhat of a mind boggling throw back and I loved it! I felt like I was in some twilight zone drifting back in time.
Is this the way basketball is supposed to be? Real team ball with a whole bunch of passing and and serious defense. Maybe, just maybe I've been watching too much NBA lately. Compared to this game, the NBA Ā looks like a selfish one on one dunk/3 point show off show.
The NBA now is the "me me me" game. It's all about "me" not team.
I measured about 5-6 maybe 8 passes for most of the offensive thwarts of both Michigan State, Duke and Butler. When watching the NBA it usually is the measly "one pass game" with theĀ impending one-on-one dunk a thunk circus, or maybe a wildly crazy prayer of a 3 point contest. Is the NBA even really team ball like yesterday?Ā
Remember Magic and Larry Bird making all those great passes in the 80's? Ā
Now, we have the big and bad arrogant "primaĀ dona's" like Kobe Bryant making 90 gazillion dollars for 3 years. David Stern is very proud for perpetuating an almost fraud form of basketballĀ similar toĀ the pro wrestling circuit.
It will be interesting to see where Butler's Gordon Hayward goes in the draft. I hope their isn't any reverse racism because of some low vertical jump stat he has. The NBA needs to go back to the basics because dunks are beginning to bore.
The Duke Butler game should be a doozy of a classic, but I predict Butler will win because of uhh..uh.. "too much team ball" a disease I hope catches on.
Mr. NBA Commissioner, yes you David Stern, instead of your ticket prices, you need to raise the basket a bit to get me back.
Better yet, give me my money back!
