The Rich Get Richer, Duke Contends For Another Title

In all honesty I did have Duke scheduled to play for and win the national championship which could be confirmed by my bracket on ESPN, but come on something was special about this year's Duke Blue Devils.

The players like Singler, Scheyer, Zoubeck, and Smith were so disciplined and smart throughout the whole tournament, even when shots weren't falling for them they came back and played great defense and got their teammates involved to win the game and now they are one win away from being named national championship for their synergy.

To me it doesn't start with the NCAA tournament but it starts with the conference tournament which was the ACC for Duke. Most teams especially 1 and 2 seeded teams don't put forth a strong effort because they know they will be a high seed regardless and the conference tournament is seen as a waste of time, but to me that kind of lazy and careless mentality is what led to the lack of energy, intensity and effort that cost Georgetown, Kansas, Syracuse, and Vanderbilt.

It seems like Duke had their eyes completely set on getting to the final game, ESPN and most sports analysts expected Duke to eventually lose and yet the Blue Devils are now fighting for that title yet again.

Coach K has does one of his best coaching jobs ever this season not from an X's and O's standpoint but more so his ability to keep his team focused and hungry to beat everyone they played. He also managed to make every opponent they came across play right into Duke's hand like a spider's web.

For my own personal gain I hope that the Duke Blue Devils win the national title but I do want it for Coach K as well and their talented team. It would be yet another notch on the belt that is Mike Kryzewski's legacy and he will be forever remembered in college basketball as the greatest coach ever and rightfully.
