Chelsea Pulls Ahead; Blatter and Platini Better Think Things Through
It is a shame to admit it, but glory be to the Blues from central London this season.
Being the two horse race that it so often is, I could not stomach Manchester United with more silverware. An FA Cup exit to Leeds, a potential spoiler by Munich in the CL and still the Red Devils continue to trounce the Premier League competition.
Whilst today's result is painfully what I wanted, I cannot believe the victory was on the back end of such a horrid call.

Yes, the Blues will take it any which way (and of course I would for Spurs as well) but the fact of the matter is big games call for big decisions, namely, the right ones.
Straying oh, let's give Drogba the benefit of the doubt, two yards off side, he was able to receive possession with ample time to turn and fire. The thundering finish however should have been disregarded.
After viewing the replay several times, it is shocking how assistant referee Simon Beck could not have seen the obvious penalty. Mike Dean, as we all know, has been a very controversial referee over his EPL career and today he was sure to deliver.
And since I'm not really one for segways, this is the latest of a plethora of incidents causing me to support the implementation of goal line technology. Even while I smiled to see United's anguish at slipping to 2-0, getting the correct call is more important.
With video replay (yes Sepp and Michel, I'm talking to you) such a crucial call in such a pivotal game would be verified in a matter of, well, most likely under a minute.
Confusion. 4th official reviews play through stadium monitors. Call is made. Nobody gets hurt.
And Drogba, if you're listening, please don't go out and celebrate this goal. Instead, stay in and pray for the Ivory Coast, Sven isn't the god send you think.
