Tim Sylvia Waxs Wise On MMA, Well . . . Almost

Recently,because of the increased publicity for "Affliction-Banned," there have been many interviews featuring  6' 8" MMA fighter Tim Sylvia.

Tim had not previously been touted as a poster boy or spokesman for the UFC organization.

Possibly because there were other fighters such as Randy Couture (pre-lawsuit with Zuffa, back in the Captain America days), who were more articulate and less likely to blurt out something ridiculous, (i.e. about going grocery shopping in small town Iowa while wearing his Heavyweight belt and actually sleeping with it), than Tim was.

During an interview Tim appeared to be  holding his own and gaining my admiration for his new found interviewee skills, by giving insight into Kimbo Slice by giving him credit for bettering his life.

Kimbo's sudden rise to fame made a lot more sense to me after Tim elucidated that Kimbo was only taking advantage of a situation he was put in due to the You Tube videos of him fighting.

After all, Tim opined, "who wouldn't accept a deal for $300,000.00 to headline shows for an "elite" organization on a national television show (CBS)?"

And concerning the case of Brock Lesnar, why should a former highly regarded professional wrestler with excellent collegiate wrestling credits to his name, turn down $250,00.00 dollars to be enticed to join the 'primo' MMA organization "the UFC"?  Who could blame him for being a good business man?

Tim lost me however when he mentioned that Fedor had not been fighting anyone of note lately, just beating some cans and "a freak show" giant who was no one of note. 

It was here I had to ask my self "what?" 

"Now wait just a minute." I thought, "Just who are you, big Tim Sylvia, formerly of the UFC, to call someone else a freak show giant?"

Tim absolutely lost me there.
