NASCAR Driver's Off-Weekend Activities

In anticipation for my upcoming article with NASCAR's relationship with Twitter, it is time to take a look through the twitter pages and see what the different drivers were up to.

Normally the fans have to wait till Friday at the track, or even Tueday at the Talladega Spoiler Test. Though with twitter, fans instantly know what their favourite drivers are doing.

Kevin Harvick (@kevinharvick) spent a day of his off-weekend with his wife Delana Harvick (@DeLanaHarvick), her mom and their dogs. Kevin's activities included doing the dishes for, in Delana's words, the first time, playing pinball and getting the dogs ready early for Halloween. Pictures were added of the incidents, including this picture of Babe, their black lab, dressed up as a princess.

Scott Speed (@scottspeed) has officially died his hair against his wife Amanda (@Amanda_Speed)'s wishes to black and blue. This picture is one of many that Speed has taken throughout the process.

Martin Truex Jr. (@martintruexjr56) and girlfriend Sherry Pollex (@SherryPollex) went on a vacation back home to spend time with Martin's uncles and anuts. Sherry reports that their "vacation was incredible! So relaxing!! Wish we could do it more often!" upon her return. Her twitter feed includes highlighted moments of their trip.

Ryan Truex (@RTruex00) went to get fitted at HMS for the carbon seat, saying "Jeff gordons seat fits me like a glove."

Kyle Busch (@kylebusch) and his fiance Samantha Sarcinella (@SamSarcinella) went out with some friends. Their twitter pages feature lighted moments of the night, including a picture of them togeher.

Matt DiBenedetto (@mattdracing) went to Hickory Motor Speedway to check out some late model racing. His report for the night was, "Awesome late model race at hickory! Photo finish...too bad @colemanpressley came up short."

David Gilliland (@DGilliland2010) spent time with his kids, tweeting on March 13th, "Today's the big day for my son Todd's championship basket ball game!" and finalizing the report with the fact Todd's team won 18 to 5. Way to go Todd Gilliland and team!

Ryan Newman (@RyanNewman39) went to spend the weekend with wife Krissie's (@KrissieNewman) family.

Michael Waltrip (@mw55) headed on a road trip that led him to watching some of NHRA action and including this picture among others.

Last but not least, Juan Pablo Montoya (@jpmontoya) went to Aruba to spend some time in the sun, windsurfing and having more fun. His tweets include some of his favourite moments from the trip.
