Daily Baseball Market Trends: Trio of Aces Take the Mound
Moving Today's Market There was some early action today with three afternoon games on the schedule. Bettors usually follow the Yankees and Red Sox, and both were involved in the early afternoon games. As for tonight’s games, the early action is following a trio of staff aces. The Cubs’ Carlos Zambrano(9-3, 2.96 ERA) looks to welcome new teammate Rich Harden and continue his dominance over the Reds, against whom he is 2-0 with a 1.20 ERA this season. Staying in the NL Central, Ben Sheets (10-2, 2.77) wants to follow the strong first start from new teammate C.C. Sabathia against the Rockies. The only Coloradohitter with positive career numbers against Sheets is Todd Helton, who just happens to be on the DL. The third staff ace drawing action is the Mets’ Johan Santana (7-7, 2.96) facing the soft-hitting San Francisco offense. Key Injury Updates
Key Market Moves Game 915 - ATL (T. Hudson) @ LAD (D. Lowe) There are quite a few Smart Money alerts for today, including the Reds receiving the status from three separate sportsbooks. It has been a slow day for Steam Moves, but a very interesting one from Pinnacle, which has a +23.43 units won on Steam Moves. The play is on the Atlanta Braves and starter Tim Hudson (9-6, 3.19 ERA) over the LA Dodgers and Derek Lowe (6-8, 4.02). Hudson has a 2.36 ERA versus the National League this season, and starting in the pitcher-friendly Dodger Stadium is a comforting thought. Add that the only consistent thing about the Dodgers offense is their lack of offense, and it makes Atlanta an intriguing bet. Today’s Best Bets Check out today’s Best Bets! Tomorrow's Market Movers A couple of CFL games, some WNBA action, and a full day of MLB, including six afternoon games, is what's happening tomorrow. |
