Entering 2010, Scott Riggs was rideless and it looked like his once promising NASCAR career was over.

But a few weeks before speedweeks, Riggs got together with Rab racing in the nationwide series, Jon Wes Townley's former team and planned to run just the first two races and hope that sponsorship would come along.

A team that last year never finished higher than 16th in a race with Townley didn't know what to expect.  But the results have been very good.

In the first two races, Riggs finished 15th and 16th which prompted the Rab racing team to go another week and Riggs then finished 14th.  Riggs currently sits 10th in the nationwide series points.

The team looks to be heading towards running the full schedule but will need some help with sponsorship.

But the way Riggs is running he will soon get some top tens, then maybe top fives, and who knows?  At one of these non companion races or a plate race Riggs could very well notch a victory.

Don't forget in 2002 and 2003 Riggs not only won races but contended for championships in the nationwide series.  His is an experienced and talented driver that can take Rab racing to the next level.

The 09 team with Riggs will only get more solid I predict that they will finish in the top ten in points and get some top fives and top tens.

I love these underdog stories, and Riggs and Rab are certainly one to follow in 2010.
