EPL : Who Will Be Next Season's Surprise Package?
I make a conscious effort not to indulge in making preseason predictions but for the sake of my sanity, I'm prepared to give it a shot.
The question is "Who Will Be Next Season's Surprise Package."
You are all probably already aware of what a "surprise package" means, so let's get this show on the road.

Last season's "surprise package" were probably Portsmouth, Harry Redknapp's force put on a stunning show last season, ending the season in eighth place and winning the FA Cup.
Reading were probably the surprise package, two seasons ago. Unfortunately, Steve Coppell's Royals couldn't continue their success and were relegated back to the Championship, the following season.
That's covered, the question remains: "Who Will Be Next Season's Surprise Package."
Well, the "new boys" (Hull City, West Brom and Stoke) could be the "surprise package" but looking at the trend, I'm certain at least one of them will go straight back down (I think Stoke).
Getting back on track for our mega "surprise package" hunt, I'm exploring possible options.
Blackburn? It's possible, Paul Ince appears to be a fiery contender, but can he transform the Rovers?
Everton? The Toffees always play below their potential. Could this be the year, they oust rivals Liverpool for the Champions League spot?
Manchester City? Mark Hughes might have been all smiles taking over as City boss but News Flash, mate, you're working for Thaksin Shinawatra. Make it big or face the sack.
West Ham? Curbs has a reputation of signing players who get injured (Bellamy, Faubert and the story goes on). Another 10th place finish, or can the Hammers hammer their way up the table.
Newcastle? I'm backing them. The Magpies haven't played at their potential for some time now. I think it's about time, the Geordies make it big.
The Toon Army has suffered for too long, hold on to your big players (Owen, Martins, Miner), sign some quality players (cough up the cash, Ashley!) and pray it goes well for King Kevin. Who Knows? UEFA Cup Spot? or more?
Spurs always buy big and always disappoint their fans. Yes, they've got Modric and Dos Santos and they'll play exciting football in patches but I believe there's another "overall' disappointing season lined up for them.
I'm putting my weight behind Newcastle, probably not a very clever move but I've got a funny feeling that there are good times ahead for the Magpies.
Who do you predict will be next season's "Surprise Package"?
