As a die hard fan of the Sacramento Kings the 2008-09 season was a huge dissapointment. Although the Kings did have a terrible record there was at least one good thing that was able to come out of the horrible season... the draft.

But the lottery, like the season, was another big let down for Kings fans who felt like the Kings diserved the number 1 overall selection or at least a top three pick, but actually the fact that the Kings fell to the fourth pick was a blessing in disguise. Instead of having an injured Blake Griffin on the team or a disappointing pick such as Hasheem Thabeet, the Kings came away with not only the best player in the draft, but maybe even a guy who will be considered the best player in the league after a couple more years under his belt.

The came into this season hoping for bigger and better things than the previous year and at one point when they were 13-14, some hopeful Kings fans had thoughts of a push for a playoff spot in the back of their minds, but that was only a let down for the rest of the year. The Kings began to struggle and the same struggles from last year began to resurface. But are things beginning to look back up???? The answer is definately YES.

The Kings will most likely have another top five pick this season which will allow us to add to our already talented young core. Names such as Derrick Favors, Evan Turner, and Wesley Johnson are three names that come across as really appealing to add to the Kings roster that could put the team over the top and have us being the Oklahoma City Thunder of the 09-10 season, or as some have called them the "big surprise."

Derrick Favors would add a dominating force down low for Evans to feed and add him to an already nice down low piece in Carl Landry and that is a pretty dang good front court. Wesley Johson and Evan Turner would also be great selections. Donte is great and I love that guy, but the matter of the fact is he is not living up to his potential... The Kings are going to need another guy to pair up with Tyreke in the back court. Both those guys would add much needed athleticism to the team and a great back court combo with Tyreke.

The Kings also have money to go possibly real in a semi-big name such as David Lee. It's apparent the Kings are interested in him since they tried to trade for him during the dead line...

With all these options laid out to add to this growing young core of talent the Kings future is definately bright. Maybe even to the point of a push for playoffs next season? That might be a stretch, but I believe great things are yet to come for this young exciting team.
