Is this the team of the 80's? Is this the team that won 5 Superbowl's? Is this team that was in the playoffs every year in the 90's but two?  The answer of the question is simply no.

The Niners of the 80's had their identity with Roger Craig, Ronnie Lott, Joe Montana, Bill Walsh, and Jerry Rice.  Also the 90's with Steve Young, Jerry Rice, Gary Plummer, Merton Hanks, Ken Norton Jr., Eric Davis, and Brent Jones.

Beginning of this Decade the Niners started rebuilding with Jeff Garcia, Terrell Owens, Garrison Hearst, and Steve Marriucci.  Who can forget the 2002 playoffs Niners vs Giants down 38 -14 with 4 minutes left in the third quarter, and the Niners comeback to win 39 to 38.

That was the last memory of an identity of a team that had one of the best organizations ever in the NFL. Then with a blink of an eye the team I grew to love over all these years became an embarrassment.  It almost makes you forget the Niners was a winning organization and that we won 5 Super bowls. I will never forget in 2005 a commentator said a college team probably can beat this Niners team.  By the way that year we only one 2 games, both against the Cardinals.

In 2009 we finally found an identity, are we as good as those previous Niner teams, probably not, but we finally a team that can in 2010 get over the hump.  Last year we we finished with an 8-8 record, that can of easily been 12-4.  Just a recap look at games with Vikings, Colts, Seahawks, and Texans, games we should of won.

In 2010 Free Agency is going to be huge, our team needs are Offensive and Defensive line and Cornerback.  If we can fill these holes in free agency, which there are a lot of good free agents out there, Julius Peppers, Antrel Rolle for example. We can use our draft picks for the offense keeping our offense young but talented.  I wouldn't mind drafting a play maker like C.J. Spiller.

Niners were a good team last year that played every minute win or lose.  We should be past that stage trying hang in games and keeping it close.  The Niners are now in the position to surpass the phase of trying to hang in games.  2010 is the dawn of a new era for the Niners to be dominant once again.
