Dan Henderson's comments on Anderson Silva

Dan Henderson was recently quoted making excuses for losing to Anderson Silva.  He made comments to the extent of: he had a bad weight cut and he wasn't one hundred percent, "I didn't fight my fight", and Silva got lucky.

I love watching Dan fight, and am a huge fan of his.  The comments about not being one hundred percent, and "I didn't fight my fight" were just excuses.  Everyone makes those after they lose.

Now on to the "Silva got lucky" comment.  That was a garbage comment I would expect from no one in the sport.

Yeah, Silva did get lucky in the fact that Henderson made the mistake of giving up his back.  Isn't that how it goes when you get submitted.  The guy kind of gets lucky that you followed his plan and left yourself open...That's the way I feel about it.

Everyone in the sport now has at least some submission defense.  So it's not like he had no clue what could happen from that position.

I could understand Henderson saying something like that to Dana to get a rematch. But why would he say that to an opponent who would quote him later, even if that's the way he felt.

I really would like to see a rematch.  I think Henderson could very well beat Silva if they fought again.  I also believe Silva could beat him.  That's why I thought a rematch should be in the works already.

Henderson had instructional DVD's called the Brazilian Jujitsu killer.  He should have known better than to get caught like that.  That's what he should have said, "Silva caught me I should have known better."

They do need to fight again.

I mean Henderson left Wandy laying flat last time they fought.  Henderson took the fight to Rampage with a dominant first round.

Henderson was also the only fighter in Pride History to hold 2 belts simultaneously.  It should be a given that he would have a series of fights against the top pound-for-pound fighter in the world.

If going public with these statements gets a rematch fight by making this a blood feud, I guess you can give Dan props for getting what he wanted. But I feel like it was disrespectful, and I think he at least needs to make another statement retracting his comments.
