The WWE is about to embark on another WrestleMania in which we have the brand extension which begs’s the question, which Title match should be the main event? We now know that the WWE has really been picky about which matches should headline Mania since 2006 in which the WWE title main evented Mania instead of the World Title match in which the Royal Rumble winner was in. This streak has continued since then with the exception of last year where Orton did get to main event against Triple H for the WWE title.

Both title matches look to be great bouts for the titles which seems to be a rare thing in WWE programming the last couple of years but seriously, both title matches have the potential to be match of the year quality. The RAW main event has WWE Champion Batista going up against John Cena. The rumors have Bret Hart being in Cena's corner and Vince McMahon being in Batista's corner with a no dq stipulation being in play. The fact that Bret Hart could be involved in this matchup has to really be attractive to the WWE in which could cause this match to be the main event of WrestleMania 26. The SmackDown side of things has the classic "return" angle in which Edge has returned from an injury and will be going up against former tag team partner now enemy World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho. Jericho and Edge have had several great matches over the years in WWE and their match at Mania looks to be a great one in the making plus Edge did win the Royal Rumble so if the WWE went on tradition then the SmackDown title match would be the main event at WrestleMania 26.

WWE has already stated before that they love to send the fans happy at WrestleMania's so it will all depend on who wins the title matches but right now the debate seems to be a deadlock because nobody knows who will walk out as the champions.

John Cena has some pretty severe back injuries right now that have really started to take a toll on his in ring performance and because of that, it looks like he may not end up as the winner of the Batista-Cena II match. Batista and Cena did have a classic match at SummerSlam 2008 but they have not wrestled against each other since then and that makes the fans really excited about this clash of great champions on the biggest stage of them all. I can't wait to see that match at Mania because it has all the great elements in it that any fan would want in a title match however I feel like it should not head line WrestleMania.

Edge vs. Chris Jericho looks to be secondary behind the Cena vs. Batista 2 match but WWE fans want great action when it comes to WrestleMania. I feel like Edge and Chris Jericho are two of the best workers in the WWE today and truly deserve to main event Mania because of what they have done in the last couple of years. Jericho hasn't main evented a WrestleMania since 2002 when he lost to Triple H who by the way was returning from a career threatening injury much like Edge is returning from. Edge has main evented one WrestleMania in his career but it was against The Undertaker which really had no drama in since it is the "Streak" that’s on the line but none the less he did main event WrestleMania 24. I have harped on WWE for letting Edge win the Rumble because of the great risk of another injury between then and Mania but if Edge continues to stay healthy then his match against Jericho should headline the show.

Now the WWE will ultimately decide which match should headline the show and heck maybe neither one will headline it since there are rumors of having HBK's last match be the last match on the card. I hope the WWE really does go in the direction of Edge vs. Jericho headline Mania but I won't be upset if it isn't because either way, the fans win in the end.
