People still love Dale Earnhardt Jr even though he hasn't won a race since June 2008. Dale Jr is the face of NASCAR still today but he has not performed up to the level he and his team expects for the last year and a half. Dale Jr not only hasn't won a race since 2008 but he hasn't even had a season with multiple wins since 2004, (yes 2004.) So now if all the stats about how Dale Jr hasn't been winning races, the question looms each and every weekend, "Is this the weekend Dale Jr gets back into victory lane?"

People are critical on a lot of folks in NASCAR for various reasons but it seems that the Junior haters are finally starting to come out of the wood works because of his lack of success he has had at Hendrick Motorsports. Fans and analysts alike believed that Junior would be in the title hunt each and every season at Hendrick Motorsports but the fact is that Junior hasn't even finished in the top 10 in points at Hendrick Motorsports. This has really caused a lot of folks to get down on Junior because of that lack luster stat and that the hype has not been lived up to in the last 2 seasons.

Dale Junior is a great racecar driver but he always seems to have bad luck when he is running fairly well. Dale may not have the greatest luck in the world but he is still a proven winner behind that racecar just look at how he ended up near the front in Daytona. The man knows how to drive a racecar but he just isn't a good fit at Hendrick Motorsports because that orginzation is like the New York Yankees of NASCAR. Try having Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson as your teammates, then you would know what type of pressure is placed on that young man each and every week.

So if you really want to know what I think will happen to Junior in the next couple of seasons well here it is. I think Dale Jr will leave Hendrick Motorsports and go to an orginization that is smaller but that can be molded into a solid performing team week in and week out maybe even his own team could go Cup racing with the techincal support from Hendrick Motorsports just like Stewart-Haas Racing is doing. Once that happens then Junior will be having great seasons and will find some great talent to drive his cars, I mean he did find Martin Truex Jr and Kelly Bires so he knows who to put in his racecars.

Yes Dale Jr may never end up being as great as his father was in the sport and yes Junior maybe overrated. The fact is that Junior can still win races and be competative if everything goes right for an entire weekend and if that happens then we may end up seeing Dale Jr back in Victory Lane.
