" I Love Me Some Me " : Entitlement In Sports

Tiger Woods admitted... "it"! Will Allen proved ... "it"(last night)! Terrel Owens embraces... "it"! What is "it"...ENTITLEMENT!

In a rather candid and poignant moment during Tiger Woods speech yesterday, he admitted believing the rules did not apply to him.  Tiger said, " I thought I could get away with whatever I wanted to. I felt that I had worked hard my entire life and deserved to enjoy all the temptations around me. I felt I was entitled. Thanks to money and fame, I didn't have to go far to find them".

Will Allen, Miami Dolphins CB, was driving around 3:35 a.m. when he came up to a police roadblock and detour. Instead of following the detour, Allen kept driving toward a police car in the roadblock, stopping only two feet from it, according to his arrest report. Allen supposedly then revved his engine.

In a moment of brilance, only visible through rose colored glasses of arogance, Allen told police,"You don't understand, I gotta get through"! Wow, " I love me some me"! Got any more me around?

This brings us to Mr.Owens, AKA T.O.! Owens has been called many things in his career, but a team player in not one of them.  Some may say their is no I in team. However, Mr. Owens would point out their ain't no we either!

If the star shines bright enough, all other light sources fade away! Basically the better the athlete, the more people will look the other way or forgive a transgression.

Maybe, W.Allen received a warning and a wink last time he was pulled over while driving drunk. Maybe, T.Woods received a get out of jail free card when he crashed his car "Sober", into a tree! Maybe, Owens received an, "A" on his biology paper in ninth grade instead of an "F".

Surprisingly, I do not blame the athletes themselves! Society, as a whole, in lifes grey areas, behind closed doors, with a wink or pat on the back. "Young man, the rules simply don't apply to you"!
