The unified tag team championships, they may make you look cool and flashy, but they really aren't what they look like.
Let's face it, the tag team division was a joke around the time of Wrestlemania 25.
John Morison and the The Miz were fueding with Carlito and Primo for months, leading up to Wrestlemania 25.
The match ended up being John Morrison and the Miz vs. Carlito and Primo, winner takes both tag team championships.
On paper, this looks great, but dig deeper, and you realize, those two tag teams were the only two that really made sense to hold a title, the rest of the tag teams were pretty much a joke.
The WWE writers didn't put a lot of emphasis on the tag team division until now. The real difference, unlike before, the WWE is putting main eventers in the tag team division and young talent is being raised through the tag team.
For example, the Big Show could be a main eventer but is ruling the tag-team division with The Miz, a future world champion.
Let me give you a list of all the tag teams in the WWE currently:
1. Legacy: Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes
2. D Generation X
3. MVP and Mark Henry
4. The Miz and the Big Show
5. Yoshi Tatsu and Gold Dust
6. Cryme Time
7. CM Punk and Luke Gallos
8. Trent Barreta and Caylen Croft
9. Vladimir Kozlov and Shelton Benjamin (possibly)
That's eight guaranteed tag teams! Nine if Kozlov and Benjamin join forces.
Tell me that isn't enough for two tag-team divisions.
On Monday Night RAW , I could see D Generation X, Legacy, MVP and Mark Henry, and the Miz and the Big Show making a tag team division.
On Firday Night Smackdown , I could see Cryme time, CM Punk and Luke Gallos, Trent Barreta and Caylen Croft, Yoshi Tatsu and Goldust, and Kozlov and Benjamin POSSIBLY making a tag team division.
Yes WWE, it is time to make two tag team divisions, it is time to give rising stars like Barreta and Croft, Cryme Time, and Yoshi Tatsu (not so much goldust), at a chance of some gold.
Sooner or later, they will have to make this change, other wise, they might as well just have one tag team title.
