WWE RAW Review February Monday 15th
Segment 1) Sheamas vs Orton
This was a good solid match. Both performers had a good outing. The finish worked well as it furthered the conflict between legacy. Randy's actions after the match proved why he's top of the food chain on Raw and also tells us that he's the favourite to win the WWE Title at EC. 3.5/5
Segment 2) Bret Hart Promo and 'Accident'
Strange Promo from the Hitman. Anyone else notice that he says the same thing every week? I suppose it ties in with the story of Bret leaving with his head high only for Cena to convince Vinny Mac that Hart v McMahon at WM26=money and Vince does a u-turn. That 'car crushing bret's leg' angle was poorly done. First of all, the driver couldn't act and 2) the car wasn't going fast enough to break his leg. I know nobody officially said his leg was 'broken' but come on, the car wasn't even doing 5mph!
2.5/5 just because its Bret
Segment 3) Showmiz vs MVP and Mark Henry
I'm not even going to comment on this one for too long. This thrown together team of MVP and WSM is absolutely ridiculous. MVP should be in the EC challenging for a World Title. Mark Henry should be confined to NXT and Superstars to coach the rookies. He was poor as a heel but he's terrible as a babyface. Also, why have your tag champs job 1 week after winning the straps?
1/5 Whats the point?
Segment 4) The Jerry Springer Show
This was absolutely ridiculous. What a waste of 10-15mins of airtime. Chris Masters could have had a solid match with Carlito or we could have had 2 short matches. But instead WWE try to write funny comedy which turns out to be corny and pointless. Two scenes in this segment some it up best, one Michael Cole's comment getting zero reaction from the crowd and the Indian saying the most intelligent thing he's said in months- what a waste of time! Also, how come blood and weapons aren't considered PG but Pregnancy, whore references(Cole saying hussie), Lawler sleeping with teenagers and old women humping men is considered family friendly? Cue Vince sr. turning in his grave!
2/5 because masters got some tv time
Segment 5) Ted DiBiase vs Kofi Kingston
This match was far too short. Never really took off. Had it been given the time allotted for seg 4, it could have blown us away. Poor booking and creative direction is crushing the young stars.
2/5 poor match. Dont blame the wrestlers, blame creative booking
Segment 6) Batista- Cena
Another waste of time. Why plug Batista appearing on Raw, only for him to show up via satelite to say he'll be there next week?
Segment 7) HHH vs Superman
An ok match. For some reason, it never really took off. Previous encounters between the two have been much better. Go back a few months to Raw in what was billed as 'maybe Cena's last match on Raw'-much better. Cheap DQ finish which has been overused in WWE for some time. Sheamas does the bicycle kick to Cena before impressively throwing HHH across the ring.
An average show at best from the WWE. Sheamas vs Orton was the best match of the night by far. One thing, why book your WWE champ to look strong 6 days before he almost certainly loses his title at EC.
Final Rating: 5/10
