Trade Deadline: 2010 Part 1: Amar'e Stoudemire

Rohit RaviFeb 15, 2010

With Trade Deadline 2010 approaching, there are many names being thrown around. In this edition, we will look at the possibility, and the potential suiters for the most talked about player this Trade Deadline, AMare Stoudemire. Here are the potential suiters:

1) Without doubt, the first name being tossed around is Amar'e Stoudemire. He is a PF/C for the Pheonix Suns(31-22) Here are the teams that have been in pursuit of him:

  1. Cleveland Cavaliers: They have offered JJ Hickson, and Zydrunas Ilgauskas. In exchange the Cavaliers(43-11) will get Amar'e Stoudemire. The Suns are likely to buy out Ilgauskas' contract, and he will return to the Cavaliers shortly.
  2. Miami Heat: The Heat(26-27) might be the first choice for Stoudemire, and the Heat want Amar'e, too, but the Suns think they aren't getting enough for him. In return, the Suns will be getting enough or him. In return, the Suns will be getting Michael Beasly. Miami isn;t willing to offer much more than that, and neither is Pheonix. What might affect the deal is that Stoudemire has a home in Miami, which is an incentive for Miami and Stoudemire to pair up.
  3. Philadelphia 76ers: The last major player in the Amar'e race is Philadelphia. The 76ers(20-32) are supposedly offering Andre Iguodala, the new A.I. The SUns are willing to take this offer, but the 76ers are hesitant.

I think that the best fit will be in Miami. Although this MIGHT work in Cleveland he has a home in Miami, and Miami SHOULD step up the offer. This offer will be good on both sides, giving the Suns a good run-and-gun player. They will probably involve another team(Bobcats, probably) in the deal.

I think that the deal will go to Miami. The Bobcats will get Udonis Haslem and Dequan Cook.

Pheonix will get Beasly,DJ Augustine, James Jones, and Dorell Wright.

The Heat will get Amar'e, Acie Law, and 2 other players.

What do you think will happen? Feedback is appreciated!

Tomorrow I will analyze Antwan Jamison possibilities.
