NASCAR Back at Daytona for the Coke Zero 400
While many people are shooting off fireworks, having cookouts, or just spending time with friends and family, the guys in NASCAR are hard at work for another race weekend.
What was formerly known as the Pepsi 400 will now be known by a different name, the Coke Zero 400.
This weekend forty-three drivers will put their all into a three-hour race that is sure to excite.
Daytona takes the competition upĀ a notch with the restrictor-plate format, making drafting the only way to pull to the front of the pack.
Many drivers will be looking for their first win of the season.
Many big-name drivers such as Tony Stewart, Jeff Gordon, Martin Truex Jr., Denny Hamlin, Greg Biffle, Kevin Harvick, and Matt KensethĀ have yet to score a victory for the 2008 season.
The stakes are very high for many of the drivers this weekend, which is sure to make this weekendās, race a crowd pleaser.
Kyle Busch still leads the Sprint Cup Series followed by Jeff Burton, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Carl Edwards, and Jimmie Johnson.
A total of 276 points separate fifth place from first, making the rank still very attainable before chase contention begins.
The stands will be full this weekend as Americans pull together to celebrate a landmark in NASCAR's history, Daytona International Speedway.
It's a very special place for many of the drivers, and a great spot for fans to get out and cheer on their driver while simultaneously celebrating the Fourth of July weekend.
