Cesc Fabregas: Better Off To Barcelona?

As crazy as the headline may sound, all i'm asking for here is just a few moments to explain my opinion.

The rumours about Cesc Fabregas heading to Barcelona that keep rising to the surface not just in the last few weeks, but in the last few months- since the summer- are now a headache in each Arsenal fan's  head, including mine.

Sometimes, I wish that I could live just a week without hearing or reading anything about this, but the media -especially the Spanish one- doesn't seem to be willing to make my wish come true.

Every now and then there are rumours about Cesc heading to Barcelona, a few months ago it was an agreement between Arsenal and Barcelona to let the player join the Catalan club, one year advanced agreement, which Wenger strongly rubbished.

A few days ago the agreement was "verbal" - !!! - between Cesc and Barcelona to join them next summer, an agreement Barcelona strongly denied.

And yesterday, just after Liverpool's game, Cesc's dad said that his son is open to negotiate with.

Headache, headache, headache and nothing but headache.

It's not like I'm so desperate that Cesc stays, ofcousre I want him to stay, but these rumours are not helping the situation here.

Sooner or later, thses rumours will affect the rest of Arsenal squad after they affect Cesc himself, which was so obvious during yesterday's game. Cesc gave the ball away directly to Liverpool lads in an unusual way and this apart from all these - again unusual - miss passes from him.

I cant blame the 2 heavy humiliating defeats against Chelsea and Man Utd for his distant performance yesterday as many other players coped amazingly and even improved like Gallas, Vermaelen, Gael Clichy and Diaby.

All I'm saying here, if these rumours keep arising from time to time and affect the captain's performance like yesterday and then  the other players' , then maybe it wont be a big loss for Arsene then to sell him to Barcelona for a decent price and protect  squad like he did with Adebayor and Kolo Toure and I wouldnt call this a surrender to Barcelona mounting pressure to get Fabregas as I'd call it a mean to protect the squad. Actually it'd prove - more and more - the stupidity of Barcelona, just to believe they could pay +40 millions for someone they already had is unbearable  stupidity.

And that strange last minute incident by Cesc, one word : STUPIDITY.
