Kevin Kolb has been criticized by a lot by Philly fans (on the Internet). One of my family members who are also football fans said that Kevin Kolb isn't that good. I've actually watched him play and he is really good. He has proved that in McNabb's absence that he can be more than just your average back up. If you think about it is just like the situation that Atlanta was in a couple years ago. How long ago? Michael Vick was there starting quarterback and Matt Schaub was there backup.

Michael Vick was a superstar and Matt Schaub was your average backup at the time. But when Michael Vick went down there was always a good back up plan. Matt Schaub like Kevin Kolb proved that he could be a starter in the NFL. Now look at Vick & Schaub and compare there seasons. Michael Vick this season was a backup that was used in certain situations like on 1st ,2nd down or whenever they where in the redzone. Matt Schaub on the other hand lead the Houston Texans to there first winning season in franchise history and threw for a league season high 4770 yards.

Now I know some will say that Kevin Kolb will never be that guy. But if you think about it Matt Schaub was never suppose to be that guy! When Matt Schaub was drafted out of the third round out of The University of Virginia he was only supposed to be that decent backup. Now he is a face of a franchise.

Donovan McNabb hasn't proven that he lead this team to the championship. Philly fans want change and this is a young and talented team. Donovan is not getting younger at the age of 33 and you have to think he will start to decline at some point. That mobility will be gone & when you get older you are more likely to get injuries. The Eagles drafted Kolb so when Mcnabb is done he would step in and be the face of the franchise. But now they could be talking about trading him? Look at Quarterbacks like Aaron Rodgers & Steve Young how they handled after getting the starting job after guys like Brett Favre & Joe Montana where there. They have handled it pretty well maybe Kolb can too. Look at Atlanta they had Matt Schaub they traded him to Houston and they are still trying to develop Matt Ryan when they could of have been better off keeping Matt Schaub. I'm not saying Matt Ryan isn't a good qb or won't be great but they probably would have been in the playoffs and maybe even farther than that with an experienced Matt Schaub.

In my opinion the Eagles would be better off with a young Kevin Kolb then an older Donovan McNabb.
